Trump with his eye-for-an-eye mentality wants torture to be brought back as a form of interrogation technique used by the United States (source).  This is a very slippery slope. If we give the OK to one form of torture, who would say that we wouldn’t greenlight other and more extreme forms of torture?

“When ISIS is doing things that no one has ever heard of, since medieval times, would I feel strongly about waterboarding?” Trump said. “As far as I’m concerned, we have to fight fire with fire.”

“We’re not playing on an even field,” Trump said. “I want to do everything within the bounds of what you’re allowed to do legally. But do I feel it works? Absolutely, I feel it works.”

Do we really want to resort to the same brutality as terrorists? On a moral ground, would we be no better?

Senate McCain is opposed of using torture (source) along with other members across the board.

And, let me just throw this out there anyway (however oddball it seems). Even Superman (the symbol of truth, justice, and the American way) would not resort to torture or killing of any form.  It’s what separates us from the villains.  Once we go down that slope, who knows what other “techniques” we’d “give a try.”
