We did NOT elect President Bannon and yet here we are.
Here’s my two-cents on the matter.
Have you ever wonder what Trump/Bannon meant by “Make America Great Again”? You may ask their supporters and they would suggest economy, some may suggest bringing manufacturing back, others will say bringing back American middle class, and a bunch of other ideals pulled from thin air. It’s some vague inclination of a wealthier time or something we’ve seen on TV that seems better “back then.”
Bannon, on the other hand, had made it clear what he wants in the “Make America Great Again” bit. He wants a “Judeo-Christian” American again, but not in the sense that it was made (to include Jewish people as well as Christians). No, Bannon, wants nothing of the original Judeo-Christian values. This would have included help for your fellow refugee, downtrodden, and the poor. It would have included compassion for all ethnic groups and economic classes. Instead, we should not even call it Judeo-Christian let alone Christian. It should be called Bannonism from now on because it is more accurate since it does not encompass Christian values.
What would Pope Francis say?
“The contradiction of those who want to defend Christianity in the West, and, on the other hand, are against refugees and other religions…The sickness or, you can say the sin, that Jesus condemns most is hypocrisy, which is precisely what is happening when someone claims to be a Christian but does not live according to the teaching of Christ. You cannot be a Christian without living like a Christian… You cannot be a Christian without practicing the Beatitudes. You cannot be a Christian without doing what Jesus teaches us in Matthew 25… It’s hypocrisy to call yourself a Christian and chase away a refugee or someone seeking help, someone who is hungry or thirsty, toss out someone who is in need of my help.”
We have a trove of information from Bannon’s time at Breibart news as well as his actions in the last few weeks in the White House including his take-over of the NSC and intelligence gathering.
He believes in a world of black and white. He also believes that there’s only two sides of this on-going battle, his Bannonites and radical Islam with nothing in-between. He believes that everything else in-between is weak or would weaken the system. He doesn’t care about refugees or immigrants and even thinks China and Asia are barbaric (Source).
He talks about ISIS and group all other Muslims together with this group as follow:
“But I strongly believe that whatever the causes of the current drive to the caliphate was — and we can debate them, and people can try to deconstruct them — we have to face a very unpleasant fact. And that unpleasant fact is that there is a major war brewing, a war that’s already global. It’s going global in scale, and today’s technology, today’s media, today’s access to weapons of mass destruction, it’s going to lead to a global conflict that I believe has to be confronted today.”
No wonder a Muslim ban doesn’t make him sleep uneasy. He doesn’t see Muslims as human but as something evil or “the other.” And, how is that not racist? (Please don’t say “Muslim is not a race” because that is a weak argument). Bannon already believes that we are at war. And, who’s to save us?
Here’s what he believes:
They indicate that the man who has most influence over the world’s most powerful leader believes in absolute truths, apocalyptic visions and a life or death War of Gog and Magog, which will start very soon, if it hasn’t already. (source)
Here come Bannon’s boogeyman again. His belief?
Forces of Islamic darkness are already on their way to demolish the West, whose resilience has been eroded by atheists and liberals. (source)
So, Bannon, everyone besides your followers are evil or weak? Is that the way to unify the United States and bring everyone together? This shouldn’t be allowed in the United States presidency, governing administration, or anywhere where the whole of the United States plural population would be affected. I think the evil is already besides the president, whispering in his ears of war and his boogeyman like Wormtongue to the King Theoden in Lord of the Rings.
Where’s Gandalf when we need him?
Bannon, Flynn, and Miller are willing to wage war against this ideal even if it cost the US more than just lives. Don’t let him take us on this wild sheep chase. We can’t counter extremism with another type of extremism (Bannonism) here in the US. With Bannon as Trump’s advisor as well as the holder of confidential intelligence in the NSC, we’re in trouble. Next, we’ll be going after legal immigration and all others that do not look or thinking like a Bannonite. This is not the American values we came to know and love.
